“It’s correct, but is it the best you can do?” – Ivra McDavis, Former Instructor IBEW 134 NECA Technical Institute

Women in construction and the trades deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated. Yet too many are still walking onto jobsites where they feel outnumbered, overlooked, or unsure where their voice fits. The culture is changing, yes—but not fast enough. And navigating it alone can take a toll.
Build-Her.org exists to make sure no woman in the trades has to build her career in isolation ever again. We’re here to shine a light on the real stories, the real challenges, and the real triumphs of women who show up every day ready to do the work—often with no roadmap, no mentor, and no one who truly understands what it feels like to be the only woman in the room.
We get it. We’ve lived it. And that’s exactly why we created a community rooted in connection, conversation, and visibility. A place where your story isn’t an afterthought—it’s the foundation for change.
And while our mission centers on uplifting tradeswomen, male allies are welcome here too—because when men learn from women’s experiences, listen to their stories, and join the effort toward safer, more inclusive jobsites, everyone benefits.
