Jessica shares that she views this quote as inspiration that she can’t be afraid to take risks. She shares that “Everything in life is a risk and you never know if you can do something unless you try, and you could be amazing at it.”

Highlights from Jessica’s Story:

Jessica started out as a document control specialist for her first two years in the industry. When the project ended, she moved back home and she found a job as a project administrator at a local Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company.

fter being in the administrative role for about a year and a half, Jessica was approached with an opportunity to learn more and start the path to becoming an AutoCAD designer. The company sent Jessica to school to learn the basics and also gave her the resources to learn more on the job along the way.

After taking the required classes and learning a great amount on the job, Jessica was offered an opportunity for a much larger EPC company as a full time AutoCAD designer and she has never looked back. Jessica has been an Instrumentation and Electrical (I/E) Designer for approximately 9 years and she is loving every minute of it. Jessica shares that she travels to the sites often to see the construction progress and how well it adheres to the design, she has also attended multiple factory acceptance test (FAT’s) for equipment and has also started expanding her role into procurement of electrical installation materials.

Next achievement in progress:

Jessica’s goal is to continue and expand her knowledge in the electrical disciplines to better accommodate her designs. She also shares that she is eager to continue learning and growing along with the rapid changes to technology. Jessica shares that she also is considering going back to school for construction management.
